EDUCATION: HELP EARTH INITIATIVE

To respond to the need for a science education that is energy-sensitive and values-oriented, HELP EARTH Distributed Multimedia Corners to host and partner schools. The multimedia corner is composed of a television set, TV rack, DVD player, DVDs and VCDs, educational books and experiment kits. These materials aim to teach the youth to make knowledge-based decisions regarding the different energy options in the future.

Juan Matipid is Trans-Asia's official Energy Hero that promotes resourcefulness, thriftiness and love for the environment to the children. Since 2010, various Juan Matipid competitions revolving around the themes on environment and energy conservation have been conducted to different schools around the country. He was officially launched as a mascot on September 2011.


Activity Guidebook

As a means of achieving a Filipino society empowered to make knowledge-based decision regarding their energy options, HELP EARTH, together with UP Integrated School Science Department came up with the Energy Activity Guidebooks. This aims to provide lessons and activities focused on energy, encourage efficient use of clean and renewable resources, promote energy conservation, and emphasize the role and importance of energy on our daily lives.

 

ENVIRONMENT: REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT CAMPAIGN

TIPID PATROL is an energy conservation program of Trans-Asia CSR that aims to teach communities and schools on how to efficiently use and save electricity. TIPID PATROL also revived the Energy Conservation (ENERCON) Initiative of PHINMA Companies wherein the commit to reducs electric consumption every year. On April 2008 to June 2009, PHINMA was able to reduce energy cost by 10% or 1.6 million pesos of savings.

Trans-Asia CSR engages in annual tree-planting activities. To date, more than 1,000 seedlings have been planted. On 2010, Trans-Asia started planting trees endemic to the community as a way of supporting biodiversity. 

 

International Coastal Clean-up

Trans-Asia supports the International Coastal Clean-up Day Annually. Since 2009, Trans-Asia employees, together with the community has been cleaning the Balayan Bay in Calaca, Batangas to preserve and protect its marine life.
